The Elephant Initiative was honored to attend a special screening in Austin, TX
of Where the Forest Roars, hosted by EarthXĀ and The Explorers Club of Texas.
Created by Kim Frank, the documentary offers a powerful look into the lives of wild elephants and the communities working to protect them in West Bengal, India.
The evening was a moving reminder of the urgent need to protect elephant habitats and support coexistence efforts between people and wildlife. Through breathtaking storytelling and firsthand conservation work, the film highlights the incredible efforts of The Jumbo Troops of West Bengal ā a grassroots organization The Elephant Initiative proudly supports.
Earlier this year, we traveled to West Bengal and witnessed this work firsthand, from protecting elephant corridors to nature-based education programs for local children living alongside elephants.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended and helped raise awareness for Asian elephant conservation. š§”

Together, we can help ensure the forest continues to roar.
Warmly,
Melinda Pharr
Founder of The Elephant Initiative.
